When Will the Premier League Take a Break for the 2022 World Cup?
The premier league fixtures 2022 is taking an eight-day break between the 2022 World Cup final and the start of the next season. The decision was made to accommodate the World Cup, which will take place in the Middle East. This will be the first World Cup to be held in the winter, and the change was prompted by the extreme heat in Qatar during the summer. The domestic leagues had to compromise in order to accommodate the World Cup. As a result, the Premier League will start a week earlier than usual in 2022, and it will conclude on 28 May 2023, which will give them plenty of time to prepare for the World Cup.
As of last summer, the Premier League will play 16 rounds of fixtures, with the final set of matches being played on November 12/13, 2022. There have been some controversy surrounding this schedule, however, and the FA have proposed an amendment to the fixture list to ensure no of the 'Big Six' clubs play each other in the week before the World Cup. The decision will be finalized at the end of August.
The 2022 World Cup will start on November 21 and run until December 18 in Doha, Qatar. The season will then resume on Boxing Day, December 26. There will be no break for the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, as the competition will start one week earlier than in the previous campaign. After the World Cup concludes, the Premier League will play again on August 6 of the following year.
