Lakers Complete Biggest NBA Comeback of the Season
The Los Angeles Lakers completed the biggest NBA comeback of the season on Sunday, battling the Dallas Mavericks to a thrilling 111-108 win. LeBron James and the Lakers overcame a 27-point third-quarter deficit to take control of the game. The Mavericks led by as many as 25 points in the first half and were cruising to a comfortable lead early. But the Lakers turned it around, playing their best basketball of the season so far. They poured it on in the second half, outscoring Portland 61-43 in the final quarter and claiming their fourth win after five straight losses. The Lakers shot a franchise-best 53.2 percent from the floor and were able to keep the Mavericks in check at the free-throw line. Against the Mavericks, Lakers star Jarred Vanderbilt stepped up big, scoring a team-high 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting and adding a career-high 17 rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
